BATTERY 2 is a sample playback
virtual sound module that runs either as a stand-alone
application or as a plug-in on Mac and under Windows. It
consists of 72 cells (cell matrix) each with a powerful
compressor and multi-mode filter, an LFO, freely assignable
envelope, re-sampling effect and an extended Loop section. The
program has sample-accurate timing, internal 32-bit
resolution, up to 128 velocity layers per instrument and can
play samples at any pitch.
The cell matrix is as fast as it is easy to use. It is
simply a matter of loading various sounds into the 72 sample
cells and creating whole new drum kits in a matter of seconds.
The matrix itself can be rearranged, cells grouped and cells
or groups can be muted or soloed for easy management.
BATTERY 2 can play 72 instruments at a time.
The matrix and its intuitive drag and drop functionality
are a big time saver when arranging samples. Sounds from
different sound-sets can be easily compared and combined into
new sound-sets without the hassle of readjusting any
parameters. These sound-sets can in turn be saved. Each
instrument in BATTERY 2 can use up to 128 velocity-switchable
sample layers and samples may be loaded into the matrix by
dragging and dropping from the desktop, or by using a dialog
box with an automatic sample preview function.
